We maintain contact with you by email if you have not logged in to the site for a few months – you choose the length of time in your account profile. We also email your advisors at the same time. This might prompt your advisors to report that you have died, if they have forgotten to do so already.
We also send you a text message (or SMS) whenever we send you an important or urgent email so you will know immediately of any important messages from us.
How we communicate with advisors
We send advisors an email every few months to check they are still available to perform their role. If an advisor does not log in to the site every few months (the frequency is chosen by them) we will email you to inform them that we have had no response from the advisor. You can then check that the advisor has not changed their email address and is still willing and able to act as your advisor.
We also send a text message (or SMS) whenever we send an important email so your advisor is alerted immediately to any action that they need to take.
How we communicate with recipients
We never communicate with recipients until at leat two of your advisors have confirmed your death and the cancellation window has passed without incident. We then email your recipients according to your schedule. We don’t send your actual message, as your recipient may need to prepare themselves before they read it. Instead we send a sensitively worded email that invites them to visit the Last Messages Club website and use a unique code to access the message that is waiting for them there. This means that they can visit at a time and a place that they choose.
